Before the fight, Nobara asks Yuji about his thoughts on Maki. Yuji admits he doesn’t know much…

…about her. Nobara explains Maki’s situation—she’s a Grade 4 sorcerer despite her strength because her family rejected her. Maki overhears their conversation.

In the present, Mai pulls out a gun and shoots at Maki. Maki effortlessly cuts the bullet in two, keeping her distance. Maki then cuts the tree branch Mai is standing on, causing Mai to fall.

Mai shoots again, but Maki kicks her in the belly. Mai recalls their childhood, hearing someone say twins are a bad omen.

She remembers walking with Maki past a cursed spirit and their father, the head of the Zen’in Family, laughing at Maki’s promise to return as the family’s head after leaving.

Back in the fight, Mai keeps shooting while Maki dodges and counts her bullets.

Mai’s nose bleeds as she uses her cursed technique, “Construction,” creating a bullet from cursed energy. Maki catches the bullet, surprising Mai. Mai acknowledges Maki’s superhuman abilities despite her lack of cursed energy.

Mai angrily asks why Maki left home, confessing she only became a Jujutsu sorcerer because of Maki.

Both sisters tear up, remembering their promise to stay together. Mai sits under a tree, reflecting on Maki’s promise. Mai and Nobara are eliminated from the battle.

Maki starts leaving as Mai sits behind the house sitting.
Back to the fight, Mai keeps shooting Maki while Maki dodges them and counts her bullets.
Mai releases her cursed technique while her nose is bloodied as she points her gun.
Mai explains her cursed technique, "Construction," in which she can create a bullet out of cursed energy.
Maki caught Mai's bullet, leaving her surprised.
Mai acknowledges that Maki has superhuman physical abilities despite having no cursed spirit.
Mai asks Maki why he left home. Mai confesses she only became a Jujutsu sorcerer because he forced himself to.
Mai is angry at Maki for not living a normal life. Maki listens to her with a long face.
Mai and Maki are teary as they remember when they both held hands together.
Mai sits under a tree as she remembers Maki's promise not to leave her behind. Mai and Nobara are eliminated.
