…suddenly transforms and explodes right in front of him. Mahito closes in, his arm morphing into a spiked weapon.
Outside, Mahito’s double fights Kugisaki, realizing she’s carefully avoiding his hands.
Unable to transfigure people himself, the double continues assaulting Kugisaki, who nimbly dodges his morphed arm strikes.
Kugisaki gets clipped but counterattacks, launching her nail projectiles.
She leaps to the second floor, raining more nails down on the double before unleashing her “Hairpin” technique – the nails enlarging with pointed cursed energy to impale Mahito’s body.
As Kugisaki moves in for the kill, Mahito’s double sees through her deadly “Resonance” combo.
Undeterred, she drives a nail deep into his head and two massive nails suddenly pierce Mahito’s main body who fighting Itadori.
Itadori recognizes Kugisaki’s long-range technique as Mahito coughs up blood, his double also suffering the same grievous wounds despite the distance between them.
Detecting her detonated cursed energy nearby, Kugisaki powers up, having discovered the double’s key limitation – an inability to use soul techniques at other people.
